The performance is an important part of all VELUX windows and comes with premium features, including noise reduction, safety lamination, toughened glass, and burglary resistance. The glass-to-edge top unit of the glass rooflight features outer toughened glass, and the base unit is equipped with a double or triple insulating glass unit with inner laminated glass (P4A).
Energy performance
VELUX roof windows are designed for high Uw energy performance that protects against the cold outside while keeping the heat inside your room. The lower the Uw, the higher the insulation value of the glazing.
• Urc,ref300: 0,65 W/(m2K)*
• Arc,ref300: 4,4 m2*
*) U-value, area and sound insulation is stated for fixed variants with either 2-layer dome (dome), Q variant 2-layer glazing unit (dome with glazing) and 2-layer glazing unit (flat glass and curved glass). U-values and areas are alculated for window size 1.2x1.2m, with a curb height of 300 mm, in accordance with method in EN 1873:2014+A1:2016.
- * Arc,ref300 = 4.4 m². U-value is stated for fixed variant with three-layer glazing unit. U-values and areas are calculated for window size 1.2x1.2m, with a curb height of 300mm, in accordance with method in EN 1873:2014+A1:2016.
Sound insulation
Sound insulation reduces the level of noise from eg. traffic outside. The higher the dB, the more the sound is reduced.
Sound Insulation: 39 dB
Safety and security
The safety and security of your home should be of the utmost importance for you and your family. For burglars, rooflights can be one of the areas they’ll try to exploit if they haven’t been optimised for safety and security.
Criminals will often try to find weak points of the home to try and exploit, so you need to make sure they don’t exist. To be secure, you need rooflights that are tested to the burglary resistance standard.
The glass rooflight is delivered as burglary resistant as standard, meaning it complies with EU legislative requirements for burglary resistance, class 2.
